Honeycomb low table
The Honeycomb low table
is characterized by its lightness, its honeycomb top made using one single large plank of Iroko wood, and its assembly technique.
It is a milestone of the transition into digital and analog fabrication and design.
The Maloof joint was adapted to robotic fabrication to assemble the different parts of the table; a digital echo to the Japanese “Mingei” (popular handicrafts) movement: One shape, one material, true joinery and nature inspired pattern.
