Hyperstat

Thanks to digital fabrication we are now experimenting a new way to make design whereby we do not design the objects but the code that will generate the objects.
Hyperstat is a code that populates complex joinery from a basic wireframe drawing. The joints created by the code are then 3Dprinted in metal in order to provide sturdy and lightweight assembly. Any furniture can be made: tables, chairs, lamps, etc.

Hyperstat Couch
Using the same system developed for the Hyperstat Chair, the couch is spanning on a larger dimension offering a comfortable surface to sit.
This generous surface displays sculptural facets underlined by the sewing lines.
The Hyperstat system could allow the user to participate, thanks to the code, to the design of the furniture that he will assemble himself.
This armchair marks a particular time in design history with its use of code generated design to drive the metal 3D printing production.
